November 12, 2006 - Beautiful, cool Fall weather was the order of the day at Extreme MX Park, and what more could you ask for as lots of riders turned out for round 3 of the East Texas Fall Series.
Steven Little Jr. continues to burn up the points standings in the 50cc and 65cc classes. Also continuing to work his way towards the top is Christian Kilgore finishing with a 1st place finish and a 3rd place finish on the day. Little is the points leader in the 50cc Open Class, 65cc 7-9 Class, and the 65cc Open Class.
Bryan Burnett took home 1st place overall on the day in the 125cc nov. and in the 250cc nov. Burnett is also the points leader in each of these categories thus far during the series.
Kolby Ralston finished at the top in the 85cc 12-15 class battling Roland Trevino who eventually would go on to finish 1st in the 85cc Open class. Lee Krumnow is the points leader in the 85cc 7-11 Class, while Ralston leads the 85cc 12-15 Class with Trevino is currently holding top honors in the 85cc Open Class.
With five races left on the day, rider James Webster - racing in the 250cc Comb. Open class - went down on the second turn off the hole, halting the race for about 45 minutes while paramedics attended to him. Andy Walts finished 1st overall while Webster took 4th in the class along with a 4th place finish in the 125cc Nov. class.
For a complete breakdown on each class check out the ETFS Race Results page. The last race in this series will wrap-up at Buffalo Creek MX in Canton on Nov. 26.
November 18, 2006 - The mud pits were perfect. The weather was perfect. What more could a mud racer ask for?
Conditions were more than what was expected Saturday morning when the gates opened at Extreme MX Park. If there is such a thing as 'too perfect' then today must have been it as only a few racers turned out for the event. Some drove in as far as Temple to participate.
The next best thing was to have some good 'ol 'clean' family fun as kids got a chance to play in the mud since the big trucks weren't taking advantage of it.
Park owner 'Big' John Richards has stated he'll continue to hold mud drag events each and every third Saturday of the month, all year long. The only thing that would dampen things would be rainy weather.
Motocross returns on Dec. 10 with the 'Young Guns Shootout.' For more information check out the link below this story to find out how to enter. The track is great for beginners, but techinical enough for the pros as the arena-cross style layout offers challenges for even the most experienced rider.
One final note. The last race in the East Texas Fall Series is Nov. 26 in Canton at Buffalo Creek MX.
A great day for racing at Extreme MX Park Sunday!
One good turn deserves another!
November 26, 2006 - The finale of the East Texas Fall Series ended Sunday at Buffalo Creek MX with some fierce riding from all classes of competitors, especially the 85cc 12-15 Class that pitted Roland Trevino against Kolby Ralston.
In one of the last races of the day Trevino took the holeshot with Ralston and BJ Williams close behind. But Ralston and Williams took a wrong turn into the sand during a bit of confusion as to which part of the track this race was taking place. Trevino slowed to a near stop, looking back to check on the riders. After watching both get back on their bikes Trevino proceeded to motor around the track, only to be halted by a red flag at the finish line before the start of the second lap.
All three riders were sent back to the starting gates and a restart was called.
On the restart Ralston took the holeshot with a vengance, jetting out of the first turn with Trevino right behind him. It looked as though Ralston was going to take this race from the start but when the riders approached the step-up jump Trevino sailed past Ralston with both riders in the air to take the lead for the remainder of the race.
Trevino finished in first in the overall for the day with Ralston finishing second. The riders split the four races in the series with Ralston taking both wins at Extreme MX Park and Trevino taking the wins at Buffalo Creek MX.
This was absolutely one of the best races on the day by two up and coming racers!
In the 125 cc Intermediate Tye Jackson finished first with Jason Rich taking second. Although finishing second on the day in the class, Rich, one of the most talented riders I've seen so far this year, seemed to have a lot of fun out on the track making every turn and jump look easy and surprising a lot of folks who've never had the chance to watch him race. Hope he can make it the Young Guns Shootout on Dec. 10 and give us folks here a chance to watch him take a spin on the Extreme MX Park track!
After taking a spill in the second race of the series and missing the third race, young Blake Polson was back in action Sunday finishing second in the 65cc 7-9 Class and taking fourth place in the 65cc Open which was won by Steven Little Jr.
Little continues to burn up the tracks finishing first in the 50cc Open to go along with the 65cc Open win.

Exciting finishes in the finale of the East Texas Fall Series!
